COVID-19

Sunday morning 10:30am Worship
In-Person services will resume June 14, 2020

Service will be live streamed for those still needing to stay home

Out of Love for each other and our community
we will endeavor to implement all California Health Department guidelines

To read full details of our implementation plan click on Implementation Plan PDF

At this time, no small groups for any age will be meeting.  Children will need to stay with their family in the Worship Center until restrictions are lifted and volunteer leaders are available.
Church at Home for Kids is still also accessible from our home page.

When we come to the church facilities:

We expect the California Department of Health guidelines will be in effect for a while; please assist us in doing the following.

Say hello with a smile and a wave. We are asked not to shake hands or hug for a while longer.  We have stickers for you that say "There is a SMILE under this mask".

Wash your hands thoroughly including under fingernails, between fingers and the back of your hands. Good old soap and water is the best way to kill this new virus and all the existing viruses and germs. We have seven sinks spread across five restrooms so we should all be able to do this. Getting tired of counting to 20 while applying soap? Trying saying the Lord’s Prayer or singing Jesus Loves Me !

Hand Sanitizer  is available at the entrance to the Worship Center.

Wear your mask or other covering of your nose or mouth.  (Mine protects you.  Yours protects me.)
Unless you have impaired breathing (or are under 2 years old), please wear a mask while around other people.  There will be extras available as you arrive.
Yes - you can sing with your mask on!  We also laugh alot and occasionaly cough or sneeze - so let's protect each other.
Do not wear a mask when you are alone or with your household members.  Just put it on when you arrive.

Use a tissue to cover coughs and sneezes or wipe eyes - particularly if you are unable to wear a mask. There are extra ones on the Info Center table at the back of the Worship Center if needed. NOTE: Not everyone who coughs or sneezes is sick. Allergies are more rampant than viruses!

Implement “social distancing”.

Please arrive early to give time for everyone to stay 6' apart while moving into the building and proceeding into the Worship Center.  If you sit as far forward in the Worship Center as you can, it will elliminate people walking closer to you while going down the main isles.

Chairs are in rows 6' apart.  Sit next to your immediate household members or friends who you are regularly with during the week, but leave two chairs or a chair and isle space between you and others.

Bulletins will be on the chairs.  If extras are needed, they will be on the tables at the back of the worship center.

When talking stay at least 6' distance away from each other and more if you or the other person is unable to wear a mask.

After the service, you will be able to stay in the Worship Center to continue talking, or go out in the courtyard (risk is reduced in sunlight).  Suggestion:  bring your umbrella - for shade and to help you maintain the physical distancing when outside.

Additional things we are doing:

The church is cleaned late Friday night each week (after Centro de Alabanza Siloe meets). On Saturdays, a UV-C+Ozone light will be used to sanitize carpets, chairs, couches, etc.  A disinfectant fogger will be used to sanitize after our Sunday worship and any other group gatherings which may occur.

Please use towels (or provided Lysol wipes) when touching handles and any other surfaces in the restrooms.

NOTE: As previously stated, soap and water is the best for killing viruses and germs. Other things you may use (hand sanitizers, cleaning wipes, and sprays) should have at least 60% isopropanol alcohol. Plan to use hand lotion between uses of these items as the alcohol will dry out your skin.

Changing how we serve the Lord's Supper:

We will place the "bread" in one cup and then stack the juice cup on top.  This will allow serving once and keeping everything separated for the participants.  The row spacing will allow the Deacons to serve each person without your having to hold the tray.

Changing how we receive your tithes and offerings:
The offering plates are placed beside the double doors between the foyer and the Worship Center.
The ability to use mail, bank bill pay, or give online will continue to be available.

While staying home:

Please do stay home if you are ill (with anything) or have been exposed to someone who is ill within 4 days.

Please continue to join us online at https://FSCC.Online.Church and use the Connect link to let us know you are with us and how you are doing.  Join in the chat also if you can.

We will be live streaming the in-person service starting with the pre-service announcement loop while everyone is getting seated, and continuing with extra recorded music after the service to allow you to continue to chat online.

If you are OK but feel you need to stay away, please let us know you are okay so we are not unduly concerned.

If you are sick, please let us know so we can pray for you and try to help if you have needs.

Join online meetings whenever you feel up to it.  If you are not receiving email or text notifications, please contact us.

You can still listen to the recording of the message at https://1stStreetCommunity.Church/Media. We try to get it posted each week by Monday at the latest.

You can still give by mail, using your bank’s bill pay system or giving online at https://1ststreetcommunity.church/online-giving-options. Thank you for continuing to support the Lord’s work through our church!

Ways to keep in contact with us:

To let us know your status when absent, please use one of the following:

This will allow us to centralize status information.

You can always call your Deacons.

If you haven't received access to the church directory (either printed or online), please let us know.  We want you to talk to each other.
You may need to stay home, but don’t isolate yourself.

Continue to Show God’s Love & Tell His Story!

While others are panicking, we need to share the peace and joy found in walking with the Lord!

We have offered to assist the Placer Food Bank and the Western Placer Unified School District with distribution of food to families in need.  They have been authorized to use some of their regular facilities but may ask us to provide use of our parking lot or Fellowship Hall later.

Be sure to pray for all the people impacted by school and business closures and the first responders and health care providers!

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  John 14:27

We love you!
