From Pastor Mike's Good Morning message in the bulletin:

A story making the rounds concerns a Biology I examination in which the students were asked: "Suppose you could take to Mars any of the laboratory equipment used in this course. How would you determine if there was life on Mars?" One student responded: "Ask the inhabitants. Even a negative answer would be significant." The student got an A.

Let’s give this anecdote a different twist. Suppose someone from Mars came to this church. How would they determine that there was life in this church? I’m sure that, if they asked you, your actions would be more significant than your answer.

If, in fact, you are born again “to a living hope”, you are set aside by God’s Holy Spirit to serve Jesus Christ. We often think that serving Christ is about our prayer life, or reading our Bible, or going to a worship service. But, serving Christ is about rubbing up against the lost. In other words, showing His Love & Telling His story. These are things that require action. So then, how would a Martian know there is life in this church? They would see the actions of its members.
